Wojciech Siudmak urodził się 10 października 1942 r. w Wieluniu. Studiował w Akademii Sztuk Pięknych w Warszawie oraz w École des beaux-arts w Paryżu. Od 1966 roku mieszka i tworzy we Francji. Jest jednym z najbardziej znanych polskich malarzy, a jego dzieła są rozpowszechnione na całym świecie i ilustrują książki, pojawiają się na okładkach płyt oraz plakatach wydarzeń artystycznych i prestiżowych imprez. Poza malarstwem, rysunkiem i ilustracją uprawia rzeźbę, projektuje scenografie, a nawet meble. Uważany jest za czołowego przedstawiciela tzw. realizmu fantastycznego w sztuce. Jego styl zakorzeniony jest w surrealizmie i odwołuje się do twórczości Salvadora Dalego i René Magritte'a. Artysta w wirtuozowski sposób oddaje trójwymiarowość, przywodząc na myśl renesansowych i barokowych mistrzów. Urzeka swoją wyobraźnią i bogactwem intelektualnym. Jego dzieła są pełne fantastycznych postaci i nieoczywistych połączeń. Wojciech Siudmak jest laureatem wielu nagród i został odznaczony m.in. Krzyżem Oficerskim Orderu Zasługi Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej oraz Wielkim Złotym Medalem Akademii Art-Sciences-Lettres. Jego twórczością fascynował się m.in. Frederico Fellini, a obecnie George Lucas i Denis Villeneuve – reżyser nagrodzonej Oskarami „Diuny", którego twórczość Siudmaka zainspirowała do stworzenia nowej ekranizacji powieści. Prace Siudmaka były wielokrotnie pokazywane na wystawach w Polsce i za granicą. Pierwsza retrospektywna wystawa odbyła się w 1989 roku w Musée d'art moderne w Paryżu, a jedna z kolejnych – na Wieży Eiffla – dziesięć lat później. Również z okazji rozpoczęcia nowego milenium prace artysty były wyświetlane na świątyni Ramzesa III w Luksorze.

Wojciech Siudmak was born on October 10, 1942, in Wieluń. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw and at the École des beaux-arts in Paris. Since 1966, he has lived and worked in France. He is one of the most famous Polish painters, and his works are distributed worldwide, illustrating books, appearing on album covers, and posters for artistic events and prestigious occasions. Besides painting, drawing, and illustration, he practices sculpture, designs stage settings, and even furniture. He is considered a leading representative of so-called fantastic realism in art. His style is rooted in surrealism and refers to the work of Salvador Dalí and René Magritte. The artist masterfully renders three-dimensionality, reminiscent of Renaissance and Baroque masters. He captivates with his imagination and intellectual richness. His works are full of fantastic characters and unexpected connections. Wojciech Siudmak is the recipient of many awards and has been decorated with the Officer's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland and the Grand Gold Medal of the Art-Sciences-Lettres Academy. His work fascinated Frederico Fellini, and currently George Lucas and Denis Villeneuve – director of the Oscar-winning "Dune," whose work was inspired by Siudmak to create a new adaptation of the novel. Siudmak's works have been shown many times at exhibitions in Poland and abroad. The first retrospective exhibition took place in 1989 at the Musée d'art moderne in Paris, and one of the subsequent ones – on the Eiffel Tower – ten years later. Also, to mark the beginning of the new millennium, the artist's works were displayed on the temple of Ramesses III in Luxor.
