Janusz Maciąg urodził się w Warszawie w 1979 roku. W latach 1999-2004 studiował na Wydziale Malarstwa w warszawskiej ASP uzyskując dyplom w pracowni profesora Wiesława Szamborskiego. Aneks do dyplomu, w Pracowni Wiedzy o Działaniach i Strukturach Wizualnych pod kierunkiem profesora Jacka Dyrzyńskiego, gdzie realizował serię interaktywnych obiektów ze stali. Obecne skupia się na sztuce użytkowej. W swoich pracach zespala głównie metal i drewno. Adaptuje materiały z odzysku, nadając im nową formę. Najnowszy cykl lamp firmuje nazwą MU light.
