He has been working in ceramics since 1987. Lives and works in Krakow. He usually forms his works by hand, usually on a potter’s wheel. He focuses on unique utility forms (stoneware and porcelain) decorated with original glazes. He asserts that it is impossible to find two identical works by him.
Andrzej Mędrek’s works have been presented at many exhibitions, including
– Created on fire… Cracow ceramics after 1945 – National Museum in Cracow.
– International Exhibition of Small Form Porcelain – Riga Porcelain Museum 2011, 2012, 2013.
– Different faces of ceramics – a series of exhibitions organised by the Polish Ceramic Association.
– Polish Ceramics Artist – Bolesławiec Triennial 2018.
He has also had solo exhibitions.
The works can be found in the collections of, among others, the National Museum in Krakow and the Porcelain Museum in Riga.
He is a member of the Association of Polish Artists and Designers Polish Applied Art.
